On the 22nd February I tragically lost my baby Son George. He was only 1 year, 1 week and 1 day old. He died after suffering a seizure at home. It was discovered later that George was suffering from Bronchial Pneumonia and Type A Influenza. Paul tragically died 5 days later. He was 33 years old.
Understandably, this has been very tough emotionally both for myself and for our two young children. However, since my losses I have gained strength from the idea of raising money for charity through 2 Wish upon a Star in both Paul and George’s name with the help of three of my closest friends. I am finding this a source of comfort and focus at this devastating time.
The name “2 Wish Upon a Star” was decided for a number of reasons. Firstly, George was our ‘little star’ and always will be. His bedroom is decorated in blue and white stars and my favourite outfit of his had a star on the little jumper. The day after we lost George, Paul and I explained to our children that George now sparkled in the stars and at night we could see him before bed. This is also where Daddy is now.
Losing two such perfect people hurts and affects everyone who was lucky enough to have known Paul and George. It is therefore important that we always remember them and smile and through this trust and its work I strongly believe this will happen again one day.
The memory of Paul and George needs to live on. They were taken by the angels far too early and it is important that we remember their smiles, laughter and love. This website is to reflect the people they were and will be full of strength, joy and happiness.
