Each Accident and Emergency Department in Wales should have somewhere where loved ones can wait for news. If a family loses their loved one there should be somewhere set aside for the family to sit to say their final goodbyes. This is where the bereavement process starts and its the little things in years to come and the beginning of the journey which will make a difference.
This room should be painted in comforting colours and furnished so it does not feel too clinical. It should have coffee making facilities and be equipped with a small selection of toys for children to use. There should be literature available for families to take away with them for them to read at their convenience.
